Google package
The Google app behind the search bar, Discover feed, Google Lens, voice search and parts of Assistant. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
The Google app provides Google Search on the phone: the home screen search bar, the Discover feed, Google Lens, voice search and, on many phones, Google Assistant and Circle to Search. On Pixels it also supplies parts of the At a Glance widget and the swipe-left feed in Pixel Launcher. It refreshes Discover and other cards in the background.
Also shown as Google app, Google Search.
The search bar, Discover, Google Lens, Circle to Search and voice search stop, and the assistant may not answer the power button or Hey Google until you turn it back on.
Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > See all apps > Google > Disable.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.googlequicksearchboxTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.google.android.googlequicksearchboxThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
