The Android system service that runs Google's on-device Gemini Nano model for apps and Pixel features. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
AICore is a Google system service that downloads, manages and runs Gemini Nano, Google's on-device language model, on phones whose hardware supports it. Apps and system features reach the model through AICore instead of bundling their own. Google says it follows Private Compute Core rules: other apps can reach it only through set interfaces, it cannot go online by itself and each request is handled separately. It updates through the Play Store.
Also shown as Android AICore.
On-device AI features that depend on Gemini Nano stop or fall back to cloud processing, and apps that call the model get an error.
Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > See all apps > AICore > Disable.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.aicoreTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.google.android.aicoreThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.aicoreRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.google.android.aicoreNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
