Digital Wellbeing is Google's screen-time app, built into Settings on Pixels and many other phones. It counts the time spent in each app, how many notifications you get and how often you unlock the phone, and it runs app timers, Bedtime mode and Focus mode. On a child's phone, screen time limits a parent sets through Family Link can depend on it as well. It runs in the background to collect usage statistics.
The screen-time dashboard, app timers, Bedtime mode and Focus mode stop working, and limits set through Family Link may no longer apply.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.apps.wellbeingTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.google.android.apps.wellbeingThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.apps.wellbeingRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.google.android.apps.wellbeingNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
