Kid Space on OnePlus and OPPO phones, a locked-down home screen with chosen apps and screen time limits for children. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

Kid Space, labeled Kids mode on some builds, turns the phone into a child-friendly space with only the apps you pick, daily screen time limits and an eyesight reminder when the light is too dim. OnePlus documents it in its manual. It runs only while Kid Space is active.

Also shown as Kid Space, Kids Space.

If you disable it

Kid Space goes away. Google's Family Link and Digital Wellbeing parental controls remain available.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.coloros.childrenspace

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.coloros.childrenspace

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.coloros.childrenspace

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.coloros.childrenspace

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
