What it does
This is Microsoft's all-in-one Office app, first called Office, then Microsoft 365 (Office) and Microsoft 365 Copilot, and now listed on Google Play as Microsoft Copilot. It opens and edits Word, Excel and PowerPoint files and PDFs and includes Microsoft's Copilot assistant. Samsung preinstalls it on recent Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy S26 series. It runs only while open, apart from file sync.

If you disable it
Nothing beyond the app itself. Your documents stay in OneDrive or on the phone.
How to disable it
Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > Microsoft 365 Copilot > Disable.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.microsoft.office.officehubrowTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.microsoft.office.officehubrowThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.microsoft.office.officehubrowRestore after an uninstall
