Samsung Pass
Samsung's password manager that signs you in to apps and websites with your fingerprint or face on a Galaxy phone.
Samsung package
Samsung's biometric sign-in layer that Samsung Pass and other Samsung services use to confirm it is you. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
Authentication Framework is a Samsung service that handles biometric and FIDO-style sign-in for Samsung apps. Samsung Pass uses it to check your fingerprint or face before releasing a password, and other Samsung services can call it when they need strong verification. It has no screen of its own and runs only when one of those apps asks it to confirm your identity.
Samsung Pass and other Samsung features that confirm your identity with a fingerprint or face may fail to verify you. Unlocking the phone itself is not affected.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.authfwTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.authfwThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.authfwRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.authfwNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Works with biometric results from the phone's secure hardware; it does not upload fingerprint or face data.
