ShareMe, Xiaomi's offline file-sharing app for sending photos, videos, apps and files between Android phones. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

ShareMe, once called Mi Drop, sends pictures, videos, songs, installed apps and other files from one Android phone to another over a direct wireless link, without mobile data. It is also published on Google Play for phones from other brands. It runs only while you send or receive files.

Also shown as Mi Drop.

If you disable it

The ShareMe app goes away. Xiaomi Share, Google's Quick Share and other transfer apps still work.

How to disable it

Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > Manage apps > ShareMe > Disable or Uninstall, where the button is offered.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.xiaomi.midrop

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.xiaomi.midrop

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.xiaomi.midrop

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.xiaomi.midrop

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.

Data and battery

Sends the files you choose directly to the other phone; the app shows ads in some regions.
