Xiaomi Share

Xiaomi Share, the nearby file transfer that finds devices over Bluetooth and sends files over Wi-Fi Direct. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

Xiaomi Share, formerly Mi Share, sends photos, videos and files to nearby phones, tablets and computers without mobile data or a router. Xiaomi says it finds devices over Bluetooth, transfers over Wi-Fi Direct, and works with Xiaomi devices, several other Android brands and Apple devices. You turn it on from Control Center or Settings > Interconnectivity, and it listens for nearby devices only while visible.

If you disable it

Xiaomi Share disappears from the share sheet and Control Center. Google's Quick Share and other transfer apps still work.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.miui.mishare.connectivity

adb shell pm enable com.miui.mishare.connectivity

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.mishare.connectivity

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.miui.mishare.connectivity

Data and battery

Sends files directly between devices; Xiaomi says private albums and private notes are excluded from transfer.
