Mi Mover, Xiaomi's tool for moving contacts, photos, files and apps from an old phone to a new Xiaomi phone. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

Mi Mover transfers data from an old Android phone or iPhone to a new Xiaomi phone over a direct wireless link, with one phone acting as a hotspot. It moves contacts, messages, photos, videos, files and app lists, and it is also published on Google Play. It runs only while a transfer is in progress.

If you disable it

Nothing until you change phones; enable it again or install it from Google Play before your next move.

How to disable it

Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > Manage apps > Mi Mover > Disable or Uninstall, where the button is offered.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.miui.huanji

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.miui.huanji

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.huanji

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.miui.huanji

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.

Data and battery

Copies the data you select directly between the two phones over their own wireless link.
