com.sec.epdg
Samsung's ePDG client, which carries Wi-Fi Calling traffic securely from the phone into the carrier's network.
Samsung package
Samsung's Wi-Fi Calling component, which lets the phone place calls and texts over Wi-Fi when the carrier supports it. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
This package provides Wi-Fi Calling on Galaxy phones: the switch under Settings > Connections, the Quick settings tile and the logic that decides when calls go over Wi-Fi instead of the mobile network. It works with the ePDG and IMS packages to carry the call. Your carrier has to support and enable Wi-Fi Calling for it to do anything, and it runs in the background while the feature is on.
Wi-Fi Calling disappears from Settings and calls fall back to the mobile network, which matters if your home or office has weak signal.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.sec.unifiedwfcTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.sec.unifiedwfcThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sec.unifiedwfcRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.sec.unifiedwfcNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Sends calls and texts to your carrier over Wi-Fi; it may ask for an emergency address that the carrier stores for 911 routing.
