Samsung setup wizard
Samsung's own setup steps for new or reset Galaxy phones, also used when adding an eSIM.
Samsung package
A hidden Samsung telephony package with no public description, reported to be needed when adding an eSIM. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
This Samsung package has no icon and no description from Samsung, and Settings shows only its package name. Community testers describe it as a telephony test and support component and report that adding a new eSIM hangs when it is disabled. It is present on almost every Galaxy profile in device surveys.
Adding an eSIM can stall on a spinning screen. No effect on ordinary calls has been reported.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.sec.phoneTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.sec.phoneThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sec.phoneRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.sec.phoneNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
