Samsung's Wi-Fi Calling controller for T-Mobile Galaxy phones; disabling it stops Wi-Fi Calling on a T-Mobile line. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

This package is part of the T-Mobile edition of Samsung's software, and its name reads as T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling controller. Together with its settings companion, com.samsung.tmowfc.wfcpref, it manages when the phone places calls and texts over Wi-Fi with your T-Mobile number, working on top of the phone's IMS calling service. It has no icon of its own.

If you disable it

Wi-Fi Calling stops on a T-Mobile line, so calls and texts in places with weak cell signal may fail. With another carrier's SIM, nothing you will notice.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.tmowfc.wfccontroller

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.tmowfc.wfccontroller

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.tmowfc.wfccontroller

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.tmowfc.wfccontroller

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.

Data and battery

Exchanges Wi-Fi Calling registration details with T-Mobile's network.
