Samsung's screen mirroring feature for showing a Galaxy phone's screen on a TV from Quick settings. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

Smart View mirrors the phone's screen or casts media to a Samsung TV or other Miracast-compatible display on the same Wi-Fi network. You start it from the Smart View tile in Quick settings or from SmartThings. It runs only while you search for a display or mirror to one.

If you disable it

Screen mirroring from Quick settings stops working. Some owners report that Edge panels crash on certain models without it, so re-enable it if that happens.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.smartmirroring

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.smartmirroring

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.smartmirroring

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.smartmirroring

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
