Samsung's policy client that downloads configuration for Samsung apps and system features from Samsung's cloud. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

Samsung Cloud Platform Manager fetches configuration and policy data that Samsung apps and system features read, replacing the older SCPM Client package on newer phones. It has no screen and runs in the background on a schedule. Community testers report that the Sound quality and effects screen keeps crashing when it is disabled.

If you disable it

Samsung apps stop receiving configuration updates, and the Sound quality and effects screen has been reported to crash repeatedly.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.scpm

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.scpm

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.scpm

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.scpm

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
