What it does

Device care is the Samsung screen that groups battery settings, storage cleanup, memory, app protection and diagnostics. It runs a daily automatic optimization, hosts Power saving, charging and battery-protection options, and scores the phone's condition. It is part of the Settings app on Galaxy phones and is updated through the Play Store and Galaxy Store. Parts of it run in the background to manage battery use and the daily optimization.

Also shown as Battery and device care.

If you disable it

The Battery and device care section stops opening, which can take away Power saving, charging and battery-protection settings and the storage and memory tools.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.lool

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.lool

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.lool

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.lool

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.

Data and battery
