The Samsung account service that signs the phone in to Samsung Cloud, Find My Mobile, Galaxy Store and Samsung Wallet. Keep it: Samsung account is needed for the phone, its updates or its security.

What it does

This package is the Samsung account on a Galaxy phone. It handles signing in, two-step verification and account settings, and it gives other Samsung apps and services their sign-in, including Samsung Cloud, Find My Mobile and Samsung Find, Galaxy Store, Galaxy Themes, Samsung Pass and Samsung Wallet. It sits at the top of the Settings app and runs whenever a Samsung service needs to confirm who you are.

If you disable it

Every Samsung service that needs a sign-in stops working, including remote locate and unlock, Samsung Cloud, Galaxy Store downloads and Samsung Wallet. On some One UI versions the Settings app has been reported to crash without it.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.osp.app.signin

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.osp.app.signin

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.osp.app.signin

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.osp.app.signin

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.

Data and battery
