What it does
Samsung Notes is the note app Galaxy phones and tablets come with. It handles typed notes, S Pen handwriting, PDF markup and voice recordings, can sync through Samsung Cloud or with Microsoft OneNote, and on newer models offers Galaxy AI tools that format and summarize notes. Samsung publishes it on the Play Store and Galaxy Store, and on newer phones it is installed as an ordinary app. It runs when you open it and when it syncs.
If you disable it
You cannot open your Samsung notes on the phone until the app is enabled again. Notes are kept on the phone and in Samsung Cloud if sync was on.
How to disable it
Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > Samsung Notes > Disable.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.notesTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.app.notesThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
