Samsung's accessibility settings and services on Galaxy phones, including vision, hearing and interaction features. Keep it: Accessibility is needed for the phone, its updates or its security.

What it does

This package provides Samsung's accessibility settings and many of the services behind them, such as vision, hearing and dexterity options, the accessibility shortcut and, on newer phones, switch access. Apps that offer floating buttons or system helpers also rely on accessibility services it manages. It is present on every Galaxy profile in device surveys and runs whenever an accessibility feature is on.

If you disable it

Accessibility settings and features stop working. Community testers have reported start-up problems on some phones with a screen lock set, so do not remove it.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.accessibility

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.accessibility

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.accessibility

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.accessibility

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.

Data and battery

Works with the screen content and input that the accessibility features you turn on need; nothing is uploaded by default.
