The stock camera app on recent OnePlus and OPPO phones, with the maker's photo processing and camera modes. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

Camera is the built-in camera app on ColorOS and on OxygenOS 13 and later, replacing the older OnePlus camera app. It provides photo, video, portrait, night and pro modes and applies the maker's own image processing to every shot. It runs when you open it or launch it from the lock screen.

If you disable it

The stock camera, its lock screen shortcut and the maker's photo processing go away. Other camera apps still work, usually with fewer modes and weaker processing.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.oplus.camera

adb shell pm enable com.oplus.camera

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.oplus.camera

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.oplus.camera

Data and battery

Uses the cameras and microphone while open, and location only if you turn on photo location tags.
