Motorola's Personalize settings for themes, wallpapers, fonts, colors and icon shapes on Moto phones. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
What it does
Personalize is the Moto feature for changing how the phone looks: ready-made or custom themes that combine a wallpaper, font, color and icon shape, plus each of those settings on its own. Motorola documents reaching it from the home screen, Settings > Personalize or the Moto app. It runs while you change the look.
If you disable it
Theme and style editing goes away, and community lists say theme editing needs it. The look you already chose generally stays.
How to disable it
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.motorola.personalizeTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.motorola.personalizeThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.motorola.personalizeRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.motorola.personalizeNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
