A Motorola support component behind device health checks and Moto Care warranty services in Device Help. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

Device Care is a background Motorola support component, descended from the old Moto Care app, that ships beside Device Help. Device Help's listing describes health checks, hardware tests and Moto Care warranty and protection plans, and community lists tie this package to those support features. It has no icon of its own and runs when support tools need it.

If you disable it

Some health checks and warranty features in Device Help may stop working. Nothing else on the phone depends on it.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.motorola.motocare

adb shell pm enable com.motorola.motocare

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.motorola.motocare

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.motorola.motocare
