Google package
Google's augmented reality engine that apps use to place 3D objects and directions in the camera view. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.
Google Play Services for AR, previously called ARCore, is the engine behind augmented reality features in apps. It tracks the phone's position and nearby surfaces through the camera so apps can anchor 3D objects, measurements or walking directions to the real world. Google installs and updates it automatically on supported phones, and it only runs when an app starts an AR session.
Also shown as ARCore.
AR features in apps stop working, such as placing 3D models in your room or live camera directions; those apps ask you to turn it back on when you try them.
Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > See all apps > Google Play Services for AR > Disable.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.ar.coreTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.google.ar.coreThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.ar.coreRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.google.ar.coreNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Processes camera images on the device during AR sessions; features such as shared anchors send data to Google when an app uses them.
