Android Setup
Google's welcome screens that run the first time you turn on the phone and again after a factory reset.
Google package
A Google helper that runs once after first setup to finish initial configuration and then stays idle. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.
Google One Time Init is a background package preinstalled with Google apps. It runs a single time after the phone is first set up, or after a factory reset, to finish one-off configuration for Google's apps, and then it stays dormant. It has no icon and no settings. Google has not documented exactly what it configures.
Nothing you will notice on a phone that is already set up. A factory reset restores it before it is needed again.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.onetimeinitializerTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.google.android.onetimeinitializerThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.onetimeinitializerRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.google.android.onetimeinitializerNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Google has not documented it; it has no user-facing data.
