My Files, the file manager on OPPO and recent OnePlus phones, with categories, search, cleanup and compression. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

My Files is the built-in file manager on ColorOS and on recent OxygenOS releases. It groups your files by kind, such as pictures, video, music, documents, app installers and compressed archives, finds them by date, source and type, and can compress, tag and back up files or free up space. Other system screens, such as download notifications, may open it. It runs only while open.

Also shown as File Manager.

If you disable it

You lose the phone's main file browser, and some download and storage shortcuts stop opening. Install another file manager first; Android's own file picker keeps working for apps.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.coloros.filemanager

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.coloros.filemanager

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.coloros.filemanager

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.coloros.filemanager

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.

Data and battery

Reads the files on your storage while you browse; nothing is uploaded unless you use a cloud or sharing feature.
