Gboard
Google's keyboard app, the default way to type on Pixels and on many other Android phones.
Android (AOSP) package
Android's personal dictionary of custom words that keyboards can read and suggest. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.
User Dictionary is the Android database for words you add to your personal dictionary, such as names and slang, along with optional shortcuts. Keyboards that support it read the list so they stop flagging those words, and it backs the Personal dictionary screen in the language settings. Many keyboards, Gboard included, also keep a separate dictionary of their own.
The Personal dictionary screen stops working and keyboards that rely on it forget your custom words; keyboards with their own dictionary are unaffected.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.android.providers.userdictionaryTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.android.providers.userdictionaryThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.providers.userdictionaryRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.android.providers.userdictionaryNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Stores the words you add on the device.
