The service that lets the phone browse files on cameras and other MTP devices plugged into it. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
MTP Host lets the phone act as the host when you plug a camera, music player or another phone into its USB port using the Media Transfer Protocol. It presents that device's files in the system file picker so you can copy photos and other files onto the phone. Copying files from the phone to a computer is handled by a different part of Android.
Files on cameras and other MTP devices connected to the phone no longer appear in the file picker. Community lists rate removal as unsafe and link it to computer file transfer, so test after disabling.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.android.mtpTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.android.mtpThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.android.mtpNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
