A developer feature that boots a test Android system image without replacing the phone's installed system. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.
Dynamic System Updates lets developers install a generic Android system image into a temporary slot and boot it for testing, while the phone's own system and data stay untouched. It is started from a computer or from Developer options and runs only during such an install.
Also shown as DSU.
You cannot try other system images with Dynamic System Updates. Nothing else uses it.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.android.dynsystemTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.android.dynsystemThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.dynsystemRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.android.dynsystemNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
