A small helper that suggests printer plugins when the phone finds a printer no installed service can reach. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.
What it does
Print Service Recommendation Service is Google's version of a small Android print component. When you open the print screen, it looks for printers on your network and recommends a matching print plugin from the Play Store if no installed service supports them. It runs only while the print dialog is searching for printers.
If you disable it
The print screen no longer suggests plugins for new printers; printers that already work keep working.
How to disable it
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.printservice.recommendationTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.google.android.printservice.recommendationThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.printservice.recommendationRestore after an uninstall
