Default Print Service
Android's built-in print service that prints to many Wi-Fi printers without a printer maker's plugin.
Android (AOSP) package
Android's print framework that shows the print preview screen and queues jobs for print services. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
Print Spooler is the Android system app that runs the print screen you see when you choose Print in an app. It shows the preview, lets you pick a printer and options, and queues the job for whichever print service handles that printer. It runs only while something is being printed.
Printing stops in every app, and the Print option may do nothing or crash the app.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.android.printspoolerTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.android.printspoolerThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.printspoolerRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.android.printspoolerNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Holds the document being printed until the job finishes.
