Android (AOSP) package
A provider that lets phone makers and carriers preload bookmarks for the web browser. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.
This package lets a phone maker or carrier supply a set of default browser bookmarks, which browsers such as Chrome can read and show as a partner bookmarks folder. It has no app label, so Settings shows its package name, and it has nothing to do unless the maker included bookmarks. It does not run in the background.
Also shown as Partner Bookmarks Provider.
Preloaded partner bookmarks disappear from the browser. Your own bookmarks are not affected.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.android.providers.partnerbookmarksTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.android.providers.partnerbookmarksThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.providers.partnerbookmarksRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.android.providers.partnerbookmarksNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Holds the preloaded bookmark list; no user data.
