Work profile
The Knox core that runs separate secure spaces on Galaxy phones, including Secure Folder and work profiles.
Samsung package
Samsung's encrypted private space for apps, photos and files, kept apart from the rest of the phone behind its own lock. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
Secure Folder is a separate, encrypted space on a Galaxy phone with its own lock, built on Samsung Knox. You can move photos and files into it and install second copies of apps, and its contents stay hidden from the main side of the phone. Samsung recommends linking it to your Samsung account so you can reset a forgotten lock. It runs whenever the folder is set up.
If you never set up Secure Folder, nothing changes. If you did, its apps and files become unreachable while it is disabled, and uninstalling it can delete them for good.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.knox.securefolderTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.samsung.knox.securefolderThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.knox.securefolderRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.knox.securefolderNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Keeps its contents encrypted on the phone; Samsung Cloud backup of the folder happens only if you turn it on.
