Tool
Look up any Android package
Type a package name such as com.android.systemui, or the name Settings shows, such as Carrier Services. 494 packages are documented so far.
The lookup needs JavaScript, which is off or still loading.
Without it, every documented package is in the full package table, which you can sort and search with your browser's find command.
If you know the exact name, a package page lives at mysystemapp.com/packages/ followed by the package name.
How it works
- 01
Type a name
A package name, part of one, or the app name Settings shows. Matching starts after two letters.
- 02
Pick a result
Each result shows the package chip, its verdict and a one-line summary, and opens the full page.
- 03
Not documented yet?
You get what the name itself tells you (the maker prefix) and a one-click request to have it written up.
What this page does and does not do
It does
- Searches the site package index, a file this page loads once, as you type.
- Matches package names, the names Settings shows and older names.
- Links every result to its page, with the verdict and the ADB commands.
It does not
- Send what you type to our server: matching happens on this page. Our host still sees ordinary request logs, as for any web page.
- Look at your phone. It only knows the packages documented here.
- Guess a verdict for a package nobody has checked.
Questions people ask
Where do I find a package name?
Open Settings > Apps, show system apps, and open an app: many phones show the package name at the bottom of App info. With ADB, adb shell pm list packages prints every name.
What if the package is not documented?
The lookup says so and offers a request link. Requests go to the queue of packages we check next.
Does the lookup work offline?
Once the page and its index have loaded, matching does not need the network.
